DEPARTMENT OF SPECIAL EDUCATION

PSTEM Academy is an advocate for all students. Students with disabilities are important participants in the educational process and enhance the learning environment and the community in many ways.  Each student with a disability is valued as an individual and has the opportunity to learn in an appropriate educational setting that is designed to meet his or her needs in preparation for a successful future. 

 

Students receive instructional services in the least restrictive environment that allows them access to the general education curriculum. They can learn alongside their nondisabled classmates to the extent that it is appropriate for them.  Teachers have specialized training to work with these students and receive ongoing professional development in new technologies, new regulations, and facility improvements throughout the year
